Plex HT Breathes New Life into HTPCs

Released in January 2014, version 1.0.9 of Plex Home Theater (HT) is the latest and greatest version of the revolutionary software that bridges the gap between digital media and your home AV system.

Here at Allione we have been using the same stable beta of Plex Media Center since 2012 to play ServerBase media content. We’re delighted to announce that with its latest release, Plex HT is now a recommended upgrade for all users.

In addition to a slick and refreshed UI, Plex HT brings performance gains, reliability improvements and new features.

The latest version offers more reliable Channels, such as BBC iPlayer, and works as an AirPlay receiver to display content from apps including YouTube on iOS devices.

Better still it runs as smooth as silk on older hardware, including our venerable Acer Revo Aspire R3600’s with Intel Atom N230 processor and nVidia ION chipset running Windows 7.

It’s a testament to the hard work and talent of the entire Plex team that the latest version works so well on low powered kit that is now five years old.

We recommend all Plex users get the update today from the Software Centre.
